Bob Tacopina Memorial Scholarship

Bob Tacopina Memorial Scholarship

Bob Tacopina first became involved with our Club soon after he and his family moved to our area.  He initially coached his daughter in our intramural program during the 2006 season.  Bob’s son joined our program soon after and Bob began coaching travel in 2008.  Bob’s commitment to the Club extended far beyond coaching as he graciously and quietly assumed many responsibilities for the Club.  He was our referee coordinator for several years beginning in 2013 and stepped up to be our Intramurals Coordinator in 2014.

Bob and his family could always be found at our intramural fields on Saturday mornings during the season as they turned passion into family time. Bob’s efforts to work on behalf of ALL of our Club members made him a friend to many and one of the unsung heroes of the Club, and he is sorely missed.

The Cold Spring Harbor Huntington Soccer club is honored to offer a scholarship in the name and memory of Bob Tacopina for all that he did for our Club and our area children.  All applicants for this scholarship must be graduating high school seniors, have played for the Cold Spring Harbor Huntington Soccer Club for at least five years and have gone above and beyond in service of the Club and our soccer community. We will also look to choose a recipient who embodies Bob’s selflessness and dedication in their pursuit of the love of soccer.
